We just finished working on one of the cleanest 2024 Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series wagons we've seen roll into the shop. The factory setup? Yeah, pretty basic. But not anymore. This rig drove out with a full Alpine upgrade that completely transformed the in-car audio and entertainment experience — and it looks and sounds incredible.

Here’s the breakdown of what we installed and why it seriously levels up the 70 Series.

Custom Alpine Speaker Pods Made Just for the 70 Series

Alpine LC70-R269P Front Speaker Pods

Let’s be honest: the stock speaker setup in the 70 Series doesn’t exactly scream “premium.” So we fitted Alpine’s purpose-built LC70-R269P 6.5" speaker pods into the doors, which were designed specifically for this model. These pods look like they came from the factory — the finish matches perfectly, the fitment is clean, and there’s no cutting or hacking involved.

What makes them awesome:

We paired the pods with a set of Alpine component speakers (sold separately), and the sound improvement is next level — crystal clear vocals, solid mid-bass, and way more punch than the original setup.

Next up was swapping out the factory head unit for something a bit more 2025 — the Alpine i905-LC70, which is basically the ultimate plug-and-play infotainment solution for this LandCruiser.

It’s got a 9” high-res screen, a custom-fit dash fascia made just for the 70 Series, and every feature you’d want for daily driving, road-trips, and off-roading.

Packed with features like:

• 9” WXGA display with super sharp visuals (no more squinting at your maps)

• Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (plus wired USB if that’s more your style)

• Dual USB ports and HDMI input (easy to hook up your devices)

• Dual camera inputs (we ran one to the rear camera and left one ready for a front cam)

• Built-in Bluetooth, DAB+ digital radio, and full Hi-Res Audio support with LDAC

We ran the new wiring, got the head unit in, set up the cameras, and once it powered on, it was one of those moments where you go — yep, worth every cent.

An Original Hummer H1 came in to us to freshen up the sound system as the speakers were crackling/popping and because they're only 4" speakers, they were missing bass but the cargo area in the Hummer is sealed off from the cabin.

KICKER to the rescue! 

We opted to install the new range of downward firing subwoofers as we did not need extreme levels of bass as the speakers were only being run by the aftermarket headunit. Balance was required here so the Kicker CDF104 was a nice touch to compliment the CSC4. With a nice tune from our professionals, we can safely say this Hummer is boomin'!

This Godzilla came in to us for a speaker upgrade with some Dynamat to go along with it.

This is a small example of our work. Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean we skip corners.

As you can see, the Dynamat on the outer door skin extends all the way through.

We finish this off with a layer of Dynaliner so the door trim as a nice soft cushioned surface to sit against.

The factory tweeter mounts were also slightly modified to suit the aftermarket Alpine Type R RS65C2 component speakers.

An extremely clean example of a forever icon, we want to keep it that way.

It is unfortunate that whoever was tasked to comply this vehicle for Australia decided to mount the baby seat anchor point right through the rear speaker grille's.

We removed this bracket so the customer can seek an alternative for the mounts and to also not cause any performance issues with the rear speakers.

A $1000 speaker can sound like a $100 speaker purely due to poor install.

As you can see in this install, we installed sound deadening material around the woofer and also a sound pad on the door skin behind the speaker magnet.

The material around the woofer is designed to have a tight fit between the speaker and door trim. This focuses the air pressure created from the speaker to exit the door trim, rather than spread around it.

The sound pad behind the woofer magnet is designed to eliminate unwanted vibrations through the door skin. In return, it allows the speaker to respond much more efficiently which results in more consistent quality through the volume range.

However, this Saab 9000 required custom work in order to make the unit fit nice and snug.

For this model, there are no installation kits available.

We asked the customer to pop in store for us to remove the factory headunit and we mocked up an double DIN unit in the factory slot.
Definitely an odd size..

After a bit of measuring and modification to a universal fitting kit, we managed to mount the ILX-W650E with little to no problems!

This customer came to us after getting ridiculous quotes and a lot of ' no we can't ' answers about this install on his brand new 2 week old 2019 Ford Mustang GT.

Customer supplied all products, cabling, insulation etc.
All we had to do was the install. " Just the install "
As anyone could guess, it wasn't just ' an install '

What kind of work did we do?

- Install front 3 way component speaker system.
- Modify factory door woofer bracket to suit new speaker, also install sound rings to replicate factory sound deadening.
- Modify factory tweeter cups to suit new speaker

- Remove factory plastic door insulation and apply sound deadening material inside door skin and replace factory plastic insulation with sound deadening material cut to factory size.

- Custom bracket for component crossover box to ensure it clears the door trim and does not rattle when heavy bass hits.

- Install 2 way parcel shelf speakers and modify factory
brackets to suit

- Apply sound deadening to parcel shelf
- Apply sound deadening to rear spare tyre area
- Apply sound deadening on rear 1/4 panel behind subwoofer
- Remove factory subwoofer and fit JL Audio subwoofer in custom made Mustang enclosure

- Install JL Audio 5 channel VX1000/5i amplifier on a custom bracket whilst retaining the factory amplifier. (This is required to still allow full OEM diagnostics)

- Full custom tune to suit the customer via laptop. ( The JL VX amplifier has an integrated sound processor that requires a laptop or mobile app to tune! )

Once complete, we tested the system at its full potential to ensure there are absolutely no rattles or distortion prior to collection.

There was quite a lot of time and effort put into this build but the results speak for itself!

The elegant and timeless silver 911 had a single DIN headunit and speakers replaced just to freshen it up before delivery to the new owner.

This classic RX3 coupe is sporting a bridgeported 12A rotary and to say we could hear it coming is an understatement!

This customer came in knowing already what he wanted and we delivered.

The Halo9 is essentially a Single DIN processing unit that extends out to a 9" screen.
This allows for unbelievable flexibility in terms of application.

Road noise, that's what it is.

Road noise can be caused by a large number of factors.
Road surface, tyres, wheels, lining material... the list goes on!

Regardless the cause, all we know is that the noise travels into the cabin.
This is where we come in.

The owner of this Navarra had terrain tyres fitted to the car, roof racks with light bars and tools in the back.
Internal cabin noise was obviously at a level that was unbearable to the driver.

The solution? Dynamat.

This car had all doors, rear panel and roof installed with Dynamat and Dynaliner.

The owner was surprised as to how much it improved the internal cabin noise and as an added bonus, the factory sound system sounded better!
