Description

BlackVue Power Magic Pro

The BlackVue Power Magic uses advanced power management to ensure your cars battery stays healthy.

The system works by having pre-set cut off voltages to prevent the camera from continuing to operate if the cars/trucks battery drops below a safe level.  On 12V vehicles the appropriate cut off voltage is 11.8 Volts.

Features include:

  • Multi-booting
  • Prevention to discharge Vehicle Battery
  • Prevention to Reboot Black box/Navigation
  • Configuring the Voltage to Cut-off the Power
  • Configuring the Timer to Cut-off the Power
  • Timer setting : 6hrs ~ Infinity
  • Semi-permanent fuse usage
  • Cigar jack connection socket
  • For 12-24V

Note: The Power Magic Pro is not a battery. If you would like to run your dash cam for extended periods of time such as 10hrs + it is recommended to use theCELLINK-B battery pack.

    Great product

The only reason I rated 4 stars for the Blackvue PMP was due to the short length of wires connecting the unit to my Pajero Sport internal fuses. The PMP works great. So far no other issues

    Perfect

I bought the Power Magic Pro to install with the Blackvue DR750S Dashcam as I had a recent experience of my car being damaged in a carpark and want to use Parking Mode from now on. Hardwiring the camera with the Power Magic Pro was straightforward, following the instructions and a couple of YouTube videos I found for my specific vehicle (2017 VW Tiguan Mk2). I recommend you use fuse taps to connect the Power Magic Pro to the fuseboard - bought those off eBay. Since installation a week ago, the Power Magic Pro has worked flawlessly, allowing the camera to record in Parking Mode with ignition off, but switching to direct power when ignition is on. So I highly recommend this product for hardwiring your Blackvue Dashcam (not sure if it works with other brands, but can't see any real reason why it wouldn't - however, do your research and talk to Strathfield Car Radio about that).

Great insurance against parking hit & runs.

While she was at work my wife's car was 'remodelled' in a carpark by a driver who didn't leave details. End result, a $500 excess to fix the damage that wasn't our fault. A Power Magic Pro with a decent 2 channel dashcam like the Blackvue DR650S-2CH costs not a lot more than that and could have recorded the hit & run driver's details. When put in that perspective to me it makes sense to be able to record footage while you're parked. The module has settable time and voltage cutoffs so your camera(s) won't drain your car battery and leave you stranded. For longer operation, Blackvue also sell the Cellink-B Battery Pack which is an inline rechargeable battery, but it comes at a premium price (~$308.00). For me the Power Magic Pro gives you enough power for light everyday use. A professional installer is recommended but if you're reasonably handy, comfortable with car electrical wiring, and take your time you can add this (and be able to non-destructively remove it later) to your car with just some additional fuse taps and fuses.
